The First Presentation
The table was originally part of Bovirke’s stand at the 1948 'New Home' exhibition in Copenhagen, which Finn Juhl designed in its entirety. The owner of Bovirke, Poul H. Lund, was among the first to recognize the potential of producing Finn Juhl’s furniture on a larger scale – lightweight, high-quality pieces tailored to the modern lifestyle, yet marked by a distinctive design language.
The exhibition also featured several other iconic works, including the 48 Chair, the 46 Sofa and the Eye Table, all of which are still in production at House of Finn Juhl today. House of Finn Juhl has been granted special permission to name this table the Bovirke Table – a tribute to its origins.

Remarkably Practical
Blending Functionalism and Aesthetics
Finn Juhl had a rare ability to combine functionalism with aesthetics – a quality especially evident in this simple yet elegant extendable table.
The wave-shaped cross bar allows you to move your legs freely under the table. At the same time, the table is remarkably practical, with extension leaves that can be conveniently stored inside. When needed, the split tabletop glides open effortlessly, thanks to a clever mechanism crafted from pine.

A Solid Table with Visual Lightness
The curved crossbar reflects Finn Juhl’s signature design language and pairs beautifully with pieces like the 46 Chair and the Reading Chair. Known for combining different types of wood to create visual lightness and distinguish structural elements, Finn Juhl’s touch is evident in the Bovirke Table. It is available entirely in oak or walnut, or with an oak frame and walnut top and toes.
Crafted with a solid wood frame and a veneered tabletop and extension leaves, the table seats 4–6 people and up to 10 when extended. A non-extendable version is also available. Every piece is produced at House of Finn Juhl’s workshop in Ringkøbing on Denmark’s West Coast.
